Target Systems provides security analysis and documentation support. We understand the critical nature of having uncompromising security and we provide an end-to-end security model that protects data and the infrastructure from malicious attacks or theft. Since 2000, we have provided security assessment documentation using the Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification Accreditation Program (DITSCAP) program, the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), and now the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process. This experience has provided us with a unique insight into the security requirements of computer systems and a keen awareness of the problems that result from security risks being neglected.

The DIACAP/DITSCAP/RMF establishes a standard process, a set of activities, general tasks, and a management structure to certify and accredit information systems (IS) that will maintain the information assurance (IA) and security posture of Defense Information Infrastructure (DII). The principle purpose of the process is to protect and secure entities comprising the DII with a proper balance between benefits to the operational missions, the risks to those same missions, and the life-cycle costs. Standardizing the process helps to ensure that the shared interests of the common infrastructure are appropriately represented and accounted for, in the decision-making process. DIACAP/DITSCAP/RMF supports an infrastructure-centric approach, with focus on the mission, environment, and architecture. The intent is to identify appropriate security requirements, verify that the design meets those requirements, test the design against the requirements, and then monitor the accredited system for changes and reaccreditation as necessary.
